CINEMA: MAJOR STUDIOS
Because of the paradigm-shift in major studio production, AEI is primarily seeking pre-sold national or international franchises for major studio production. When our clients’ motion picture screenplays, published novels or nonfiction books are ready for the marketplace, AEI places them directly with studios or with major directors, stars, or co-producers who can assist in completing the film’s “package” before approaching financiers. Upon sale, AEI retains its management commission. AEI serves as producer on clients’ projects, receiving its producing fees directly from the financing company. When we’ve received our producing fees, we refund our commission to our clients or their agents. AEI has set up films with Disney, Fox, New Line, Paramount, Sony, and Warner Brothers.
CINEMA: INDEPENDENT FILMS
AEI works with finished screenplays with elements (stars, director, financing) already attached to provide and procure the balance of financing required for independent production. As part of our independent production services, we have formed a joint venture, “AIM,” with Informant Media (“Crazy Heart”) to procure and provide matching equity for screenplays. AEI’s most recent indie film was “Gospel Hill” (Fox), currently in casting for “Boobytrap” with Informant Media, Original Films, and Fierce Entertainment.
AEI is focused primarily on seeking colorful events, occupations, and personalities for reality programming as well as “big event” true stories or published books. AEI has set up movies and series with ABC, CBS, NBC, HBO, Fox, Lifetime, and Hallmark Hall of Fame; and is currently in preproduction with Renegade83 for client Jerry Blaine and Lisa McCubbins’ “The Kennedy Detail” (forthcoming, Gallery Books) for The Discovery Channel; and clients Teman and Teran Evans for Sundance.
In addition to these more traditional paths toward television and film production, AEI offers qualifying proactive co-production clients full development, preproduction, production, and post-production services. AEI is currently working with client Dr. Nicolas Bazan’s novel Una Vida to complete the financing of a script written by client Alan Roth.
